I am reporting a potential safety defect involving water intrusion into the amplifier location on my BMW F33. According to the dealer's diagnosis, water entered the area containing the amplifier, causing failure of the audio system and the loss of audible safety warnings and alerts. The contact owns a 2024 BMW 430I. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V438000 (Electrical System); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The manufacturer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the unrepaired recall repair was a safety hazard. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2019 BMW 430I. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH and switching lanes, there was a loud explosion. The contact was unable to determine the cause of the sound. The contact pulled over to the side of the road to inspect the tires and discovered that the sunroof had shattered upward. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 131,992.

One year after purchasing this new vehicle, the two rear tires were worn to 4/32nds. The dealer advised they need to be replaced. I am [XXX], with no accelerated starts or hard braking, so after one year and 7,500 miles, the rear tires were up for replacement. BMW SIB 51 33 16 (NHTSA ID 10200233) Manufacturer defect resulting in water slowly backing up into trunk and other parts of car until it completely fills side panels, floor of car, ect.
